The Smoke
The Smoke was an English pop group from York.
The name The Smoke was chosen as the band came from Yorkshire "the smoke" was a term for London.
Their biggest hit was the debut single "My Friend Jack".After a second single, the infectious pop melody entitled 'If the Weather's Sunny" the band moved to Island Records. They relased there debut album in 1967 in Germany called 'It's Smoke Time'
The band consisted of Mick Rowley on lead vocals, Mal Luker on lead guitar, "Zeke" Lund on bassand Geoff Gill on drums.
