Dreamy, pastoral sounds lending itself perfectly to the 4AD label
British pop group Frazier Chorus were formed in Brighton, by singer/keyboardist Tim Freeman, percussionist Michelle Allardyce, flutist Kate Holmes and clarinetist/programmer Chris Taplin.
Originally dubbed Fishing for Clouds, and later Plop!, the quartet took the Frazier Chorus name from an American baseball jacket belonging to Allardyce.
The band’s first album, ‘Sue’, was released in 1989 and featured the single ‘Sloppy Heart’. The second album ‘Ray’ followed in 1991 and featured the singles ‘Cloud 8’ and ‘Nothing’. A year later, Frazier Chorus disbanded with Freeman reforming the group for 1995 album ‘Wide Awake’.
